Privacy policy
How HolidayCorp (Pty) Ltd collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
We use what you book, enquire about and click on in our emails to choose which holidays we show you. You can stop this at any time with the unsubscribe link in any specials email. That also stops all marketing from us, and we then delete the interests we have built up about you. Your account emails, like invoices and statements, carry on.

- Purpose
- If you choose to share a holiday story, we publish it on holidaycorp.co.za so other members and visitors can read about your trip, ask you questions about it and vote for Find of the Month.
- Lawful basis
- Your consent. You tick to agree before you share, and a story is never published without it. Sharing is entirely optional and has no effect on your membership.
- What is published
- Your first name and the first letter of your surname, the destination and month of travel, your title, favourite moment, places and tips, your photos, your passport level, approved questions and answers, and the Cashback you earned on that trip only if you tick to show it. Never your full surname, contact details, membership number or what you paid.
- Location data
- Phone photos can record where they were taken. We re-encode every photo before it is published, which removes that location and other hidden details. The original upload is kept privately for checking and is never public.
- How stories are checked
- Before anything is published, an automatic check reads your words and looks at your photos for things we never publish, such as an address, a number plate or a child without a parent's agreement. The check is run for us by Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI model, which processes it on our behalf and does not use it to train its models. Anything it is unsure about is looked at by our team.
- Children
- A photo showing a child is published only when the parent or guardian confirms they agree. Without that confirmation we don't publish it.
- How long we keep it
- Until you withdraw it, or until your membership ends plus 30 days. Then the story, its photos and its questions are removed from the website and deleted.
- How to withdraw
- Remove your story at any time from the member portal, and it comes off the website at once. You can also ask us on WhatsApp or by email and we will remove it for you.
